    My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some extensions. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my natural hair. I just don’t know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?

      Hi Sharon, thanks for visiting DurableHealth, poorly fitted hair extensions and unskilled removal of the same hair extensions can lead to hair damage. It can result to a condition known as traction alopecia. The Wikipedia defines this condition as a form of gradual hair loss, caused primarily by pulling force being applied to the hair. The pulling force or stress loosens the hair from its follicular roots which, if not recognized earlier leads to hair loss (breakage and fall out). So the most obvious remedy (which you already seem to have figured out) is to avoid the extensions or if you must wear them ensure they fit well and ensure they are removed by a skilled hair stylist. You can also try hair growth supplements like Biotin. If the condition is not severe, a little patience may be required…give your hair time to recover by itself. However, you should make a point of visiting your skin/hair specialist (dermatologist) for further advice. Other than the hair extension, there might be other underlying reasons as to why your hair is falling out and breaking.

    I didn’t realize that Biotin was the same thing as Vitamin H or that it helps metabolize fats and proteins into smaller building blocks! That sounds like it would really help your body process the different things it takes in every day. I imagine that it would be useful to consult with a physician about how to combine this supplement with your regular life/routine.
